These kinds of problems are common in the consumer PC market. The program gives warning about potentially malicious installs, quarantines problematic code, and basically does most of what people would want from an antivirus application. The antivirus software comes pre-installed on all Windows 10 PCs and, by most accounts, it does a decent job. Microsoft is very serious about not wanting you to disable Windows Defender and that's certainly a questionable choice.
